Sonny was recruited as the singer of ‘El Clan de la Nueva Ola’, a band that played in TV programs produced by Alfred D. Herger. For example, ‘Kaleidoscopio’ and ‘Hit Parade Fanta’ on channel four. He even co-starred with Gloryvee in the eponymous time slot called ‘El Show de Sonny y Gloryvee’ within ‘Estrellas en el Siete’ TV show.

Besides being an entertainer, Sonny was also the artistic producer, screenwriter, scenographer, special effects artist ,and even cartoonist of different productions.

Producer Tommy Muñiz casted him to play different characters for the TV show ‘Esto sí Tiene Nombre’ broadcasted by channel 7. Simultaneously, on channel 6, he was the host of the program ‘Encuentro con la Música.’ As well, for the children’s TV show dubbed ‘Festival Infantil’ aired on channel 7, Sonny gave life to the beloved ‘Profesor Tuki Tuki’.

In channel 2’s TV show ‘La Pirámide’, Sonny worked as a comedian playing the character of Mustafa.

At the Tapia Theater, in the 70’s, Sonny debuted in the play ‘Los Muchachos del Combo’. He shared the stage with great actors such as Juan Carlos Santa Cruz, Chavito Marrero, Axel Anderson, Raul Xiquez, and Walter Rodriguez.
